Stomach Cancer

Cancer that develops in the stomach is also known as gastric cancer. Risk factors include obesity, smoking, and infection with H pylori. Symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and weight loss. Stomach cancer is diagnosed by obtaining tissue samples during an upper endoscopy (EGD). Depending on the stage of the cancer, it may be treated with some combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
